1) How much does shipping cost?
Please refer to the shipping chart under the customer service menu. For seafood orders over 100 pounds, please call us to place the order over the phone.

2) How is the seafood packaged?
Your seafood order is carefully packed in an insulated container with dry ice to maintain the right temperature. This way, the seafood stays fresh. Additionally, lobster orders include seaweed, bibs, and wet naps.

3) How are the packages shipped?
All packages are sent using the overnight express service of either UPS or FedEx.

4) When can I get my order delivered? Is Saturday delivery available in my area?
Our daily cutoff is 12:00pm (noon) EST for next day delivery. There are no deliveries made on Sundays, Mondays, or certain holiday black-out dates (see below). Saturday delivery is available for an extra charge of $15. (It is not available in all locations, please call 800-PICKUPS to check or e-mail us with the delivery address and we will check for you). Delivery charges to Hawaii and Alaska vary; please contact us before placing the order.

2008 delivery black-out dates: 5/27, 7/4, 7/5, 9/2, 11/27, 11/28, 12/24, 12/25, 12/26
2009 delivery black-out dates: 1/1, 1/2, 5/26, 7/4, 9/8, 11/26, 11/27, 12/25, 12/26

5) When will I receive tracking information for my order?
You should receive tracking information by e-mail prior to 7pm EST the night before your order is scheduled to arrive. If you do not receive this information, please contact us. (Keep in mind there may not be any tracking information in the system the night before, but by early the next morning you should see activity.)

6) When will my seafood order arrive?
Your order should arrive by 5pm local time on the delivery date requested. If you do not receive your order by this time, please contact us or the overnight carrier to obtain the status.

7) How do I keep the lobsters fresh once I receive them?
You should refrigerate the lobsters when you receive them and we recommend they are cooked the same day they arrive. NOTE: Do not submerge them in water, they will die faster.

8) How long do lobsters live?
Once lobsters are out of their natural habitat, they do not live long but usually last at least 48 hours from the time we ship them. However, we recommend they are cooked the day they are received. If you are planning on eating them on a future date, you should consider cooking them half way when you receive them, and then finish cooking them the day you eat them.

9) How do I cook my lobsters?
Most people choose to cook their lobsters by boiling them. Fill an appropriately sized pot half way with water. After the water begins to boil rapidly, drop the lobsters in and start timing using the guidelines below. The lobsters turn a bright red color when done.

1-1/4 pounds -- 9-10 minutes
1-1/2 pounds -- 11-12 minutes
1-3/4 pounds -- 12-13 minutes
2 pounds -- 15 minutes
2-1/2 pounds -- 20 minutes
3 pounds -- 25 minutes
4 pounds – 30 minutes

10) What is the best way to reheat lobsters?
Most people reheat lobsters in one of two ways: either steam them or boil them long enough to get them hot. You’ll want to be careful not to overcook them.
